Great review of a fantastic old camera- the Leica IIIf

My dad had one of these that I just found in an old camera bag. Its a Leica IIIf Red Dial with the Summitar 50mm f2 lens and the Elmar 90mm f4 lens. I’ve been a pro photographer in the past, using all manual stuff like ‘Blads and older Minoltas but damn- the controls and dials on this little tank are intimidating as hell. I didn’t realize how pampered I’ve become with my Nikon D750. Even though I still shoot the D750 in manual mode most of the time, I’m going to have to re-learn photography to use the Leica. I can’t wait.

About Scott

I am an older geek who has a deep, abiding fascination for all things shiny and new, but also a deep, abiding respect for all things shiny and old. Or just old. And not always shiny.
